Whools: a startup with the door open
Whools is a startup, and Whools Community is its community. Genuinely open: no waiting list, no screening, and nobody asking you to invert a binary tree on a whiteboard.

How you get in
To become an official member and land on the page, all it takes is showing up: a PR that gets merged, a workshop you run, a thread you unstick. No degree, no years of experience.
And that's where the team comes from. The day we can pay what a good developer is worth, we won't be looking outside: we already know who's been building this with us.
The money goes to whoever leads
Unlike other startups, the money a project makes goes entirely to whoever leads it. That's the rule that keeps the community from being a source of free labour.

Who started it
There are three founders — a web developer, an offensive security engineer and me, on full stack. The community page is the list of the people who make it, day to day.
Projects and gallery
Projects are cooked up inside (GOTCHI, my Unity 6 game, is in there, in development) and there's a community gallery: rigs, screens, meetups.

The site
whools.tech runs on Next.js 16 with Three.js and a CRT terminal look: purple on black, monospaced type, an ASCII logo and a boot screen that greets you with Click to boot system.
